Unusual Tools You Won’t Believe I Use to Ease my Anxiety as a Business Owner

I don’t know about you, but my efficiency and productivity drastically decrease when I am stressed, tired, or have too many ideas floating around in my head. It is one of the reasons I sure try to take the time to stay healthy—both mentally and physically. While it seems that old-fashioned eating well and working out are the only way to stay healthy physically, there are a few great tools that have been created over the years that I find incredibly helpful in maintaining my mental health! I hope they can be helpful to some of you too!

Don’t Slow those Ideas, Catch Them!

Often in the morning when I get in the shower, my brain is either running in a million different directions, or I come up with the BEST idea that I just want to remember by the time I turn the water off! Ever been there? Ladies, I’m talking to you! I don’t know whether it is my morning creativity flowing… or that I spend too long in the shower… but either way, I am so grateful for my Waterproof Notepad Shower Notepad!

It may sound a little silly, but I guarantee that the next time you have a great idea in the shower you will be thinking about this notepad!

Need some Zzzs?

Ever get less than the recommended eight hours of sleep in one night? Let me assure you, you are NOT alone! Drowsiness can be one of my biggest productivity hurdles during the day. Thankfully I have found a solution that works for me that doesn’t involve binge drinking sugary caffeine drinks (although, I do that too!): my Soy Candles (handmade in the USA). (Also love these.)

The three-pack that I love includes Lemongrass, Olive Blossom, and Fresh Linen. While I find that the Olive Blossom and Fresh Linen scents boost my mood, I don’t think I could get by anymore without my Lemongrass candle.

Lemongrass is known for its ability to help relieve stress, anxiety, and irritability. It also helps prevent drowsiness and relieve headaches! Any time I am feeling stressed or tired (which in my world is more often than I would like to admit), I light my Lemongrass candle and am able to keep on going! There is also something to be said about having a “get ready to work” routine. I get to my desk, light my candles, put on some tunes and I’m ready to roll!

Lay on some “Needles”! You won’t regret it!

I don’t know about you, but a LOT of my life is spent in awkward positions. (I’d like to blame my kids, but I know it’s not all their fault!) Even if I buy the best shoes and pour hours into creating the most ergonomic desk set-up, sitting in front of a computer eventually catches up with me. There is nothing that ruins my outlook on a day like the onset of neck or back pain. I’m sure you’ve been there. A big day ahead and your lower back will hardly let you walk or sit without shooting pain down your leg? Or an important meeting on the schedule for the morning and you’re thinking it is going to be hard to make a good impression looking like a confused puppy with the crick in your neck you woke up with?

My Acupressure Mat has saved me from plan-ruining back and neck pain more times than I can count!

Personally, I’ve also found that it boosts my energy level, but also helps me relax! It’s no surprise then that I recommend this mat to everyone I know! Yes, it is a bit painful the first time you use it, but after about five minutes, I find myself in a trance-like, meditative state that is both mind and body healing!

I hope that some of you are able to benefit from these tools as I have! I am always up for trying new things, so I would love to hear about any tools that you use to maintain your mental health!
