About the Web/Visual Designer
As a Web/Visual designer at BDG, you will be doing much more than just creating designs. You will execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to development and conceptualize original website design ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex roadblocks.
We are looking for a talented Web Designer to create amazing user experiences for our small business clients. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful web design. They should also have superior user interface design skills.
This role requires an independent self-starter who can work remotely with our team and help us grow.
Job Description & Responsibilities
- Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to development.
- Conceptualize original website design ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex roadblocks.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and sitemaps to communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and widgets.
- Present and defend on-trend, innovative designs and key deliverables to peers and stakeholders.
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
- Manage projects and tasks inside project management software and communicate through Slack.
- Be very open to feedback when working with our team.
- Maintain a positive attitude while being solutions-oriented.
- Care about people and genuinely want to help independent, smaller businesses.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of design experience
- A strong portfolio of web design work that demonstrates the versatility and a broad range of design knowledge and skills
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe XD
- Demonstrated understanding of fundamental visual design principles such as typography, composition, color theory, and layout
- Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
- Up-to-date with the latest web trends, techniques, and technologies
- Excellent written English communication skills
- Great workability to easily accept changes and feedback
- Self-motivated, communicative, and the ability to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced, small-team environment
- Highly collaborative, organized, strong attention to detail, and respect for deadlines
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously with ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working remotely
- Proven work experience as a Web Designer
- BS/MS in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Visual Arts or relevant qualification
Compensation
- Negotiable based on experience level. This is a contracted, part-time hourly role.
- Paid on a 1099 basis (independent contractor).
- You will be providing your own computer & internet access to complete your work.
- Hours: approximately 40 hours per month with the opportunity to expand.
